Mei Mei and Juliet Fashion photo shoot

Job Type : Fashion photography Catalogue  - photo shoot

Shoot Duration : 3 Days

Model : Michelle McNamee

Photographic assistant : Greg Taylor

Shoot setup : Canon 5dmk2, Canon 70-200mm, 2.8, is usm mk2, Canon 50mm 1.4, Eisntien 640 x4, 2 large softboxes, 2 large silver umbrellas, bard doors with assorted grids, shooting tethered via lightroom.

Its was a fun 3 days, no complaints here, I got to pick one of my favorite fashion models to work with, Michelle McNamee, Michelle is just a true professional, I think that paying for a professional like her actually saves time and money, provided that we had everything else right it was a no brainer, all I had to do in the end was point the camera at her, (ahhh I wish it was that simple) almost icon wink Mei Mei and Juliet Fashion photo shoot , I was also fortunate enough to have another amazing team member on board for the shoot, Michelle Da Costa, WOW, that pretty much sums her up, WOW, amazing, talk about knowing her stuff, cant wait to work with her again, a lot can be said for having the right people on the job, Michelle’s hair & makeup was flawless, so many changes and so effortlessly done, the whole process went like clockwork. We had close to 300 garments to photograph, different hair, makeup and accessories for the majority of them as well, “we did it easy”

The main worry for my client was to be able to capture and reproduce all the garments in true color as you would see them, great lengths had to be taken to ensure this, white balance was set and double checked as we went as well as grey carding every set up for any needed color correction, I think this is most important for fashion photography, especially for catalogue work, it just has to be right.

Day 1 we spent at Zuri nightclub, I was working mostly with a 3-4 light set up, love that place, so rich

Day 2-3 I set up a mobile studio at the clients warehouse (yes I can set up anywhere)

Retro fashion

Beautiful models, big hair, retro fashion and some American muscle, what a combination, up and coming Australian models Melissa Davies and Eliza Baker gave me the pleasure to photograph them both with the assistance of Legend Hair and Makeup artist Josie Calipari from styla and authentic retro fashion supplied by retro shiela in Coolangatta and oh dont forget the cars supplied byDavescoolcars.com , I really couldnt go wrong, I armed myself with a canon 5d mk2canon 7d and an arrangement of lenses prime and zoom and 4 einstien 640 with softboxes, I tried a few different lighting combos and attacked them at every angle possible, I love the results, hope you enjoy looking at the photo’s as well.
